The Long and Winding Road : ‘By this time next year…’

By this time next year..

What exactly we think will be different on January 1st 2014 is hard to say but we all somehow believe that things will be different. If not physically then certainly as far as attitudes to our situations and challenges.

Funny how , for the most part, our plans for the upcoming year always seem to include vastly improved financial resources! Rarely though does that happen except for the lucky few. Most people simply carry on with the same things as before, there is comfort in what we know even when it does not bring us positive results. There is a train of thought that says the prospect of success is more daunting for some people than the reality of their current situation, no matter how much they dislike it. Funny things us humans

Here is my take on all this prediction and prospect stuff;

‘if you dwell in scarcity , you will live in scarcity’.

If the only change you make next year is to look at all eventualities as opportunities to succeed rather than fail…. you probably will.

Keep doing what you are good at, don’t try to do things that are not in your ‘wheelhouse’, recognise the talents of others, share your wisdom and experience, encourage creativity and finally, pursue excellence at all times

Next year will be approximately the same length as this year, things rarely happen overnight and as they say … the only place you will find success before work is in the dictionary

Just try not to be a ‘blister’… they are the people who turn up when all the work is done.

I wish you all a safe, healthy and restful 2014, free of stress and anxiety and full of ‘light bulb moments’, collaboration and a ‘never say die’ attitude.

see you on the long and winding road……. Patrick
